Who we are
Raymond Jolly left his hometown Waskaganish, QC, at 13 to pursue hockey and education in Mistissini, QC. In his final year at Voyageur Memorial high school, he enrolled in an entrepreneurship class. Since then, he developed a passion for entrepreneurship, and in the fall of 2016, he studied it at Algonquin College. After obtaining his diploma in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, and Project Management; he was accepted at Carleton University. During his first year at Carleton, Raymond wanted to begin his entrepreneurial journey but was unsure where to start.
Raymond is a firm believer in doing something he loves and is passionate about. He then developed a business idea that encompasses his identity as an Indigenous person through a clothing brand. He is proud of who he is and wants to showcase his strong connection to his culture, language, and way of life.
Eeyou Istchee Lifestyle came out as a form of a clothing brand on May 24, 2021. Our vision for Eeyou Istchee Lifestyle aims to enhance the pride amongst other Indigenous people worldwide and to embrace who they are as Indigenous people. We make clothing to help people embrace who they are, wherever they are.
Eeyou Istchee means Indigenous land; collectively, as Indigenous people, this does not mean ownership of the land but a home for all of us who occupy the land. A home where our culture, language, and spirituality derive from.
